In November of 2007, with the idea of living maximum quality in all areas and respecting the environment, Set Hotels adopted an integrating system both in its hotels and its central offices. This has resulted in the hotel chain obtaining several international distinctions ISO 9001: 2001 and ISO 14001: 2004. Also the Hotel Santo Tomas continues another year with the environmental distinction EMAS.

For Set Hotels to obtain the certificate ISO 9001 means the maximum guarantee of quality for our clients. We are always looking for ways to improve and satisfy your expectations, with the environmental certificate ISO 14001 and the EMAS of the Hotel Santo Tomas we are committed to combining tourism with helping the environment. We have introduced ways of saving energy and water, and the correct separation of waste materials (urban as well as dangerous), also the constant training of our staff in these important matters.

EMAS

The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is the EU voluntary instrument which acknowledges organizations that improve their environmental performance on a continuous basis.

EMAS registered organizations are legally compliant, run an environmental management system and report on their environmental performance through the publication of an independently verified environmental statement.

They are recognised by the EMAS logo, which guarantees the reliability of the information provided.

IQT Mejora Continua

The IQT Quality Seal comes from the need to provide the necessary quality to all the tourist establishments within the Balearic Islands, fulfilling the Permanent Modernisation Plan included in the general tourism Law. The IQT establishes some requirements according to the infrastructure, service and sector type. Periodical monitoring and improvement plans take place in order to check and fulfil such requirements. The IQT seal is the starting point both for the company and the businessman to be able to choose the most convenient systems.

The Instituto de Calidad Turística de les Illes Balears awarded all the establishments of the Set Hotels chain with the IQT Quality Seal, rewarding our Company for the touristic quality management.

Distinction and Spezializtion (IQT)

With the target of diversifying and specializing our tourist offer, we have created various products that favour the deseasonalization with a promotional character and the extension of the offer in the Balearic Islands.

IQT Convenciones y Reuniones

Establishments with the services and facilities necessary for the organization of conventions, with the possibility of combining them with other leisure activities.

From March 2008 Hotel Port Mahón and Hotel Port Ciutadella have the distinctive sign of Conventions and meetings granted by the Institut de Qualitat Turística del Govern de les Illes Balears (IQT).

IQT Wellness

Establishments which offer the perfect setting for producing a feeling of well-being. They have facilities, professionals and services specializing in mind and body care.

From March 2008 Hotel Port Ciutadella has the distinctive sign of Wellness granted by Institut de Qualitat Turística del Govern de les Illes Balears (IQT).

IQT Reserva de la Biosfera

Establishments which respect their surroundings and Menorcan culture, protecting the island’s natural and socio-cultural heritage.

From June 2009 Hotel Santo Tomás and Hotel Port Ciutadella have the distinctive sign of Biosphere Reserve granted by Institut de Qualitat Turística del Govern de les Illes Balears (IQT).

TUI Umwelt Champion 2008

TUI Umwelt Champion is awarded by the touroperator TUI to the 100 hotels in the world that best fulfill the technical and organization requirements about an ecological responsible hotel management and act in accordance with these requirements.

To obtain this award the hotels must carry out with the requirements of the “Environmental Checking List of TUI for Hotels” and obtain the customer satisfaction about the steps started in the establishements.

Hotel Santo Tomas is awarded with the TUI Umwelt Champion prize since 2004 for its environmental and ecological responsible management.
